Getting started with SecureWallet

A fast, secure guide to set up your hardware wallet for safe crypto storage and backup.

Quick setup — start protecting your crypto

This guide walks you through secure setup: unbox, initialize, create a backup seed, and install a companion app. Follow these steps carefully to ensure long-term protection of your digital assets.

1

Unbox & verify

Confirm packaging is intact and the tamper-evidence seals are present. Only initialize a device you received sealed. This ensures secure hardware from the start.

2

Initialize device

Power up your SecureWallet and follow on-device prompts to set a PIN. The device generates a private key internally — never enter seeds on a computer or phone.

3

Write down your backup seed

SecureWallet will display a recovery seed (12–24 words). Write the words on paper or a metal backup — do not store the seed digitally or online.

4

Install official companion app

Download the SecureWallet companion app from our official site or verified app stores. Pair the device with the app to manage accounts and send transactions.

5

Verify addresses

Always verify receiving addresses on the hardware device display before sending funds. This prevents address-replacement malware attacks.

Tip: Use a metal backup plate for fire & water protection.
Tip: Never share your seed phrase — no one from support will ask for it.
Tip: Keep firmware updated via the official app to receive security fixes.
Tip: Test a small transaction first to confirm everything works.

Detailed guide & safety

Secure storage starts with device security and user habits. Use a strong PIN, keep backups offline, avoid public Wi-Fi during setup, and keep your device firmware current. If you ever suspect compromise, move funds to a new device using the recovery seed immediately.
